NEW YORK | Where Would You Build A New Skyscraper?

Build it 1999’-11" so NYC could have another inch to legally build theirs taller.

I dont think I’ve ever seen the location mentioned by anyone but I’d propose a new development on the site of the current 22 Cortlandt St building and maybe even the parcels directly to its east. Maybe 2 developments, a new commercial tower on the site of the current one and a new apt/hotel tower south of 7 Dey St or just one big building with office and hotel or apts. Doesnt have to be tall or anything, I just want to see that lot (besides 7 Dey St since its new) all redeveloped it has a horrible interface with the street.

Based on @rgarri4’s latest video, what location in Midtown seems best for the Legends Tower?

I feel like it’d be very difficult to build a skyscraper there, especially with all the spaghetti-mess roads, putting supports would probably be difficult. Capping it and building a park or public space would be just as good.

Legends could go in Midtown east in somewhere like the Roosevelt hotel or that proposed complex south of the united nations headquarters for Midtown west I would Say 418th or Silverstein’s twins near PABT.

If the overall question boils down to where in NYC a new skyscraper/ group thereof ought to be built, it has to be the Bronx.
Mott Haven has already seen the beginnings of this; and perhaps the next most logical choice would/should be in the Concourse section around Yankee Stadium. That spot is IMO screaming for a hotel/resi high-rise of decent size.
As for having a supertall in LIC, I’m pretty sure the bedrock in that area can’t bear such a load; and the geology of everything going east is extreme majority glacial deposits.
Matter of fact, the tallest structures in the Nassau/Suffolk 'burbs are the LIPA stacks in Fort Salonga between Northport Village and Eaton’s Neck at =/-620 feet each.
