Ok, this is awesome. I’d do this
What a mess the blackout lol.
However it was a chance to see how far the city has come in exactly 42 years.
In 1977 there was looting, arson and everything went tits up during the blackout.
Fast forwards 42 years and we have this
And this
NYC truly is the greatest city in the world. hahahha
I’m a bit worried for a city/region wide blackout this weekend. Temperature flirting with the triple digits means A/Cs and fans on max.
fuckin’ windbag. ![]()
the measure was swiftly approved for to a floor vote in the House and passed the lower chamber last week on an overwhelmingly bipartisan 402-12 vote.
When presidential candidate and Democratic Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand of New york requested unanimous consent — a procedural move that allows a bill to skip several steps to pass unanimously, without senators casting an individual vote — on the bill on the Senate floor Wednesday so that it be accelerated to a vote without debate, Paul objected.

Paul objected, citing the the rising national deficit and saying the spending should be offset by cuts elsewhere. “It has long been my feeling that we need to address our massive debt in this country,” he said. “We have a $22 trillion debt. We’re adding debt at about $1 trillion a year. Therefore, any new spending that we are approaching, any new program that is going to have the longevity of 70 or 80 years should be offset by cutting spending that is less valuable. We should at least be having this debate.”
In 2017, Paul voted in favor of Trump’s tax bill, which disproportionately benefitted the wealthiest Americans and cut the corporate tax rate nearly in half, from 35% to 21%. The Congressional Budget Office projects that bill will add more than $1 trillion to the deficit over a decade.
^ the MTA scapegoated the hell out of the Skyline Tower contractors on that.
aaaand today:
Like 2 wtc there are two existing designs for the penn hotel replacement 15 penn plaza. It would be neat if they went with an updated Pelli design.
For a little when there was pushback regarding the demo I hoped chase would take the whole building as it’s the same size ~2.5M as the park ave project. Too bad the penn station area is so mediocre
Senate passes bill ensuring 9/11 victims fund will never run out of money.
