I can hardly wait for Christmastime when it will be red and green. 
The fencing makes this look kinda… gaudy? Like, imagine how weather and time (and people vandalizing it here and there) will make this look in the next 5-10 years 
If only the fencing somehow added to the design (vs detracting from it)

I agree. The Bean is more of an afterthought. I always see a lot of tourists in the Hudson Yards area checking out the Vessel.
I believe The Bean was always meant to be a part of the design. It just took them a long ass time to make it. There’s an old promotional video for 56 Leonard and it starts with a silver sphere, then being “crushed” by the first floor above ground to show its true final shape

I believe the same but unlike the Vessel which is essentially a “centerpiece” to HY. the Bean is stuffed under 56 Leonard and rather inconspicuous.

I saw an off off off broadway one-act based on cockpit recordings of air disasters (pre-9/11). It was pretty claustrophobic.
