I also noticed just now the air traffic lights on top of the tower is blinking white during nighttime.

I wonder if they brightened the “spiral” lights or if it’s a matter of perspective since the spiral effect is actually quite visible in this camera and is brighter than the office lighting. It’d be less of a flop if it’s bright like this from all angles but that’s not the case. It’d definitely stand out if they chose another colour other than white in its current state.

From another perspective, it looks like absolute garbage and is drowned out by the office lighting.

I love this building a lot

Now that a lot of the buildings are getting done, elevators coming down, and lights turning on, HY at night is looking really nice.

This building looks like garbage at night since the ‘spiral’ effect continues to be washed out by the office lighting. They really should brighten those lights for it to look better. In-person it also looks rather mediocre so it isn’t a matter of camera settings.

I still agree with this, even if the lights on the spiraling part were of a different tone or color they would stand out more. Maybe a cooler tone, it would definitely be more visible against the warm office lighting.

The spiraling effect looks MUCHHHH more pronounced in the daytime than when viewed in the evening, of course, due to it being flooded out by office lighting.

I was just thinking this today when I saw this building from the train on my way back to the city.

Very interesting light display in the lobby.
The shades open and close, look almost alive

Those look like low-budget “shylights”, since it looks like they don’t drop and then open. I think they’re nice in the right application, but this is certainly an interesting place to use them/see them.

Wow! the shylights look amazing!! The ones in the spiral are not even close to those.

I’d assume they look better at night, but yeah your not wrong that these are not even on the same level as their original counterparts.
