Strangely for most of the ground floor there are no girders in place. Its easy to look down into the foundation level
I know lots of people aren’t fans of this tower but I’ve grown to like it, it’s like a modern take on the ancient ziggurat. Sure, it might be a little gimmicky but I think it’s more creative than slapping a setback or two on an otherwise boring box (looking at you, 50 Hudson Yards).
Also, I love the sheer bulk of this thing. It’s shocking to think that a tower this thick is going to be around the same height as the Chrysler Building. Makes 30 Hudson (which is a bulky tower) look skinny.
Apparently they added a floor to the building, so it’ll be taller
it’s so always satisfying when buildings go vertical…
This building is an absolute behemoth
So is 50… the scale is mind-boggling. Can’t wait to watch these things fly up this year
