That’s a pathetically low height for that area.

Kinda sad a 9 story building in Manhattan warrants its own thread…Nothing against OP but Hell’s Kitchen needs to be rezoned ASAP

No disagreement here…fortunately City of Yes has resulted in a modest upzoning for HK:

Currently, the core of Hell’s Kitchen’s Clinton Special District (generally speaking, W43rd St to W56th St bw 8th and 10th Ave) has building height limits of 66 feet (6 stories) on the streets and 85 feet (8 stories) on the avenues. After the passage of City of Yes, developers will be allowed to build up to 115 feet (or 12 stories) along avenues and 105 feet (11 stories) mid-block, nearly doubling the height of the neighborhood — as long as they provide 20% of their units as affordable housing.

Of course, goobers like the ones cited in the article will whine and moan about ‘displacement’ and ‘neighborhood character’ in the name of affordable housing, not realizing they are the ones standing in the way of housing supply.
