A render of 141 Willoughby street with 9 Dekalb in the back , I don’t recall seeing this render before.
Does Brooklyn have a new tallest?
Went to NY this weekend and hung out at a friend’s place up top on The Ashland! Seeing this place via photos is one thing, but it’s beautiful in person! A few shots taken with an iPhone:
Isn’t DeKalb bad enough?
Anyone have any idea of how tall it is now? Somewhere between 710-720ft?
I retract my concern of too many vertical lines on the facade of Jan. 5. This is truly a stunning building and I think it will be hard to top any time soon.
721 ft
It is mind-boggling to me how tall it will be once it reaches its full height. Around 18-20 floors left to go not counting concrete levels on the top. Being a frequent visitor of this site I have to say, that I have lost sense of scale. Where I live the tallest building is about 112 feet (shorter than Hudson Yards “Vessel”).
So for some odd reason, my mind has fixated on using 3WTC as my mental supertall yardstick over the past few years. Perhaps it is the proximity to One WTC. Anyway, at about 1080’, it is actually in between both LA’s tallest building (1100’ Wilshire Grand) and San Francisco’s tallest building (1070’ Salesforce Tower). To me that’s crazy.
What’s mind-blowing is how this will add so much impact to Brooklyn’s skyline and it is only a little taller than the WTC’s third tallest building.
I’ve been walking our city’s bridges in this warm weather and I gotta say the impact of this building is immense now.
