Yes to more of this. We need all the apartments we can get. I will only say that this also needs some sort of mass transit link if we are talking about thousands of additional units. I know it wasn’t popular before but it might be time to dust off the bqx proposal from the deblasio years to link all these waterfront developments to multiple nodes of transit like Atlantic terminal in the center, 36th street to the south and LIC/queens plaza to the north. As much as a subway would be nicer a grade separated LRT could be more feasible
Another big “yes” here! I never understood the BQX proposal. Why rail when it shared the right of way with auto traffic? Perhaps there could be dedicated express bus lanes for the mile of this development? Bigger issue is costal resiliency. This is area is some of the most sensitive to flooding and rising sea levels in all of the city.
