The first time I saw pictures of this building I was quite negative. But now that is is finished I too sorta like it. The architects certainly carried out an idea about color, following in the footsteps of the well known Michael Graves of the last century moderns. This one does stick out like a sore thumb but as NYCityBoy just noted, the area needs some upbeat buildings. This ended up working for me.
This building and Yeshiva’s Belfer Hall are the Scylla and Charybdis of Amsterdam Ave. What a tremendous geographical location though. A skyscraper in Washington Heights would have the most incredible views in the city.
