NEW YORK | Penn 15 (401 7th Ave) | 1,200 FT | 61 FLOORS

Another angle per Xing Lin:

This thing is a chonker, I’m all here for it. I can’t wait for all the towers this area will have in a decade, very large and tall towers at that. Some sites most likely bigger than this.

it’s a nice chunky boy. Soon it’ll be surrounded by more tall boys

Terrible design when you compare it to 270

I might like this more than 175 Park. 175 has a nice execution, it just seems plain to me. This building is unique and chunky, but its not the greatest

It’s just unbalanced. I don’t mind the boxy look, but it doesn’t have symmetry.

I would’ve liked to see the Hotel Penn restored, but since that’s not happening, I’m excited about this tower. It’s going to be gorgeous. I love how it narrows as it ascends.

I’m most excited about the terraces on this tower. That outside view on a comfortable sofa? With drinks and meals? Amazing.

And imagine seeing the ESB light up for New Years Eve from this tower

This tower is going to be amazing.

If that is the most recent diagram (which looks up to date with the current base layout) the title needs to be changed to 1,200’.

1,200’ is fine with me.

Yeah it’s been that for a bit. They made the base bigger and cut some floors. Meant to reply to TK

In terms of height I generally agree, but one has to admit that 70’ is still a lot, even though at most that was probably only 3-5 floors removed, as it’s shorter than the Empire State Building now. But I was just commenting on the height because I didn’t know I had the ability to change the title.

I don’t think it’ll be that big of a deal. When the rest of the towers are built, this one will just be “another one”

It’ll stand out for a few years because it’ll be the first of such immense size to be built so close to esb, but once the others are built it won’t stand out as much

And depending on how the developers divy up the sqft, this might not even be the third tallest tower of the bunch

Demo has started. I heard the columns in the front entrance that say Hotel Penn might be preserved, that’s why there’s no scaffolding on that part. I know Vorando will have really good materials on the new building

I wonder what they’ll do with them, museum?
