I wonder if its the ramps to the rooftop parking lot. They closed it back in December so I’d think those would be the first to go.
Yes, it’s the ramps that go to the parking lot.
That’s right. In the coming months, we should see temporary ramps start construction over 40th street, which are crucial to free up space for the SSF and permanent ramps structure to commence.
not going to see that until late this year, unfortunately.
That church is so pretty.
They’re making some kind of progress. No decking yet, but it seems like they’re doing pours for the abutments, which the actual deck beams will sit on. It also looks like they’re using some decommissioned ramps to store materials, before they eventually likely get torn down.
The PA should also get to fixing those Lincoln Tunnel roads. They are in such rough shape and have been that way for a long time. It wouldn’t hurt to repave them.
It’s all a controlled mess.
The Port Authority, finding more ways to screw over and punish NJ Commuters is planning to charge higher fees for NJT buses to access the PABT which are one of the largest users of the terminal.
Not only are fees going to be increased, but they also plan to add new ones as well, which will all likely result in even more fare increases on top of existing ones. NJ Transit at this time predicts hikes of over 60% in fees and tolls to use both the tunnel and terminal, compared to prior years.
The excuse for the fees? To help pay for the bus terminal. It sounds like the same excuse used when tolls were introduced on the NJ Turnpike: “to help pay for it and then they’ll go away,” but as we know, the agencies get comfortable keeping them and keep increasing them each year.
Tolls never go away.
So messed up. Incentivize mass transit now!
Not surprised coming from the agency that thinks $8.75 is appropriate for the AirTrain.
That’s the same agency that’s also running the PATH into the ground.
Here’s an actual official update per the PANYNJ.
Beginning today on April 21, drivers going to NJ are to not use the Lincoln Tunnel Expressway since it will be closed to permit steel installations as a part of the Dyer Ave deckover project.
It makes no sense to sever a piece of the parking lot ramp, as just a middle section was cut out.
You’d think they’d at least take down the part that connects to the terminal as well.
