I didnt bring my camera and my night shots on my phone arent that good when zooming far away but the spire is exhibiting a kind of cascading red white and blue color scheme.

The lighting on the bottom of the spire looks brighter, as the cables look brighter too…unless it’s just because of the color of the lighting

The lighting is certainly brighter on the base. It seems the brightness was actually turned up.

From the webcam last night. They really should keep the base lights off in my opinion. I never thought they looked great and the lights are always broken. Without them on I feel like it makes the tower look more seamless at night instead of the clear distinction between the office floors and the bright yellowish base.

Didn’t know what thread to put this in. A man jumped into the North Fountain this afternoon. He’s ok, thankfully. I just hope they don’t rope off the pools now a la the Vessel. The memorial fountains need to be experienced by all.

According to another article apparently a potential jumper was talked off the ledge of the south pool last month and another person jumped in the north pool last year

Later, security guards were spotted erecting chains around the pool to discourage anyone else from jumping in.

Yeah hopefully they don’t permanently rope it off I should say.

Ever so slowly chipping away at the remaining spaces

Awesome! They don’t have much space left at all to lease. It’s crazy how much more successful this tower and complex has been leasing wise than the twins / original complex were (and yes I prefer the twins even though I think this tower is a gorgeous replacement).

I think it’s not accurate exactly, as the new complex still has less square footage than the original, and 2wtc is non existent… but impressive given the nature of the site.

I noticed that One WTC now has a new white flashing strobe at the top of the spire. The bad weather today and the low clouds made it really visible.

Sometimes a red FAA aircraft warning light goes out and it defaults to the white strobe used during daytime. It will be someone’s job now to climb up there and replace the red bulb.

The maintenance on these towers are truly awful. Especially with the decorative lighting. It’s actually appalling given the historical landmarks that they are. There’s a window on 4 WTC that’s needed to be replaced pretty much since it opened and it’s still sitting there with those brackets around it :upside_down_face:. I wince every time I walk by it.

The red FAA light is still operational.

Yeah, both the red FAA and this white one are flashing at the same time. They blink at different rates— the white one blinks very briefly but has a longer interval than the red one. It seems like an intentional addition
