NEW YORK | One Vanderbilt | 1,401 FT | 67 FLOORS

The article mentioned that one of the “Ascent” elevators at The Summit malfunctioned during maintenence. Its not abnormal that the listed floors that felt the virbrations were felt on were also near the major mechanical levels.

They say it felt like the tower dropped 5 feet from many floors throughout the tower. Hopefully this isn’t a Millennium Tower moment

I think there would be some visible evidence of subsidence or buckling at ground level. Besides 1 Vandy is built on a very heavy foundation atop relatively shallow bedrock. Maybe mechanical issue near a column?

Edit: By which I mean maybe some kind of malfunction on a mechanical floor that caused strong vibrations?

Yeah no. People can’t assess the stability of a building by feel.

Also TKDV was correct

Go read my extensive jargon about the height of this building on my IG stories :+1:, I could’ve made it 3 times longer, but I didn’t want to bore my small audience.
