Nothing can come close to Grand Central really or even the grandeur of the old Penn station from what I’ve seen in pictures. Some things can never be recreated.
The GCT clock is shiny and eye catching to be sure. And it also is part of a large information kiosk that draws people to it. Meeting at the clock is a New York byword. The new Moynihan clock is nice but it is not made of materials that draw your eye and it is disconnected from the rest of the terminal architecture. Meeting at the clock is almost meaningless in this configuration. There is nothing “magnetic” about it. Too bad; that space could use a central focus. This, however, is fixable. The architects should go back to the drawing board and figure something out that becomes a real focus of attention.
“meet me at the Moynihan clock” will also be difficult to achieve from a practical perspective, as the incoming passenger will need to know where on the Penn Station platform he or she will need to exit in order to end up in Moynihan instead of the MSG basement. This, of course, will be easier said than done.
Some gilt, or chrome as a contrast to the GCT clock, around the clock bezels and fluting would help tremendously. It needs to sparkle and catch the light. Maybe they can use it as a wrecking ball to demolish MSG.
I think the most instagrammable parts of the station are definetely the escalator an the skyscraper roof, those are fucking great
that vista of the ESB through the glass roof is great
This is very old news. Didn’t Facebook win the lease months ago
CB5 is currently discussing MSG relocation. Vishaan Chakrabarti to speak momentarily.

Technically, connecting to Brookfield’s Manhattan West, Moynihan by proxy.

High Line Expansion to Connect Park to Moynihan Train Hall
That sh.it just south of the station must come down ASAP! Eighth Ave south of 31st St is disgusting.
That whole stretch of 9th needs to be leveled and replaced with more Manhattan West-type office towers.
Just dont level the Molly Wee!
