NEW YORK | Metropolitan Future Skyline Photo Collection

I wish the Bronx could at least compete with either Queens or Brooklyn

If this actually came to fruition, then there would be nervous sweating for Dubai and especially China

Maybe Chinese cities are done building for now. There is a supposed cap on new construction of supertalls; however,I have seen little to no media attention talking about it. Given the current state of their property market, many projects appear to be stalled or canceled. Only time will tell.

Dubai wouldn’t worry unless New York builds a tower over 2700 ft tall… not likely anytime soon I’m afraid to say.

Yeah, I’ve heard of it, a 500-meter limit. But now recently they capped buildings over 250 meters for major cities.

Also, I believe there is one supertall somewhere in Chinna that is still rising, although slowly.

Yeah, Dubai wouldn’t worry in terms of height. But for density maybe.

I could imagine the NYC clusters connecting each other into one massive cluster, from Hudson Yards and Penn Station to Midtown East and billionaires Row.

Why is there no development on the east side of midtown near the UN? That area looks almost as underdeveloped as the west side Hudson yards did.

I was wondering about the area too

I guess they’re protective over the area due to, ya know, the UN building right there. But there were plans for some apartments in the lot beside it, no idea what’s going on currently.

The shaded area is vacant land or dilapidated infrastructure. They should raze it and build new buildings!

A couple of photomontages I’ve made, showing 175 alongside One Vandy and the ESB (I don’t want to bump the main thread without actual news!):

It will be such a gorgeous building.

It really looks like the Chrysler Building called in its big brother almost 100 years later to get back at the ESB for the height race it lost lol.

I’m really liking the architectural references that 175 is making to the Chrysler Building. It’s definitely the confluence of those that came before it.

If 175 Park Avenue is the modern Chrysler, then what is the modern Empire State Building?

I think it’s more like the modern version of the MetLife building.

This is not my best render, but this is my dream city skyline. The Grand Hyatt is a modern Chrysler Building at 2100 feet tall with spire, and 270 Park Avenue is the modern Empire State as the world’s tallest building at 2700 feet tall with spire.

What do you think?

Now we need just a 1km building and we’ll have a mountain skyline!

Btw nice edit of your dream skyline!

This is a rough sketch of the massings of the possible future developments along the 5th Avenue corridor.
