I think the Garden City twin towers would look more badass and “Gotham” with a dark color scheme, as opposed to the gold/bronze siniaevart gave them. I’m thinking black terra cotta, dark glass and black steel. Would look like something from Tim Burton’s Batman. But anyway, I know they’re just visions that won’t actually get built. I’m just spitballing.
Rgarri, Could you please post more pictures of the skyline effect with those new buildings?
Not the best render by any means, but just a quick look at Downtown.
The second picture shows a future vision development (nothing real).
What’s 250 Park Avenue? What is the status of the Roosevelt Hotel? By all accounts we will see a mega tall proposed in these sites only to see it scaled down/canceled to just being 800 feet.
There are no 250 Park or Roosevelt Hotel proposals. Those are both potential development sites, but no concrete plans have been made public. The Pakistani owners of the Roosevelt said they might redevelop it into a 100 story hotel, but nothing is set in stone. Whatever gets built on those sites will probably be supertalls, since NYC has a good record of building supertalls. Certainly will be taller than 800 ft.
I would be beside myself if 250 Park gets torn down. That’s the last full block prewar on that stretch of Park Avenue,The only building left would be the Helmsley Building at 230 Park.
I would like to see 245, 280, 299, and 300 Park come down before 250. Then again, I felt the same way about 270. It would be a shame if Park Avenue loses nice buildings like 250 and 270 while junk like 245 and 300 remain.
Something I drew in class when I was bored… hopefully this is New York 2030-2040. The biggest development is the West Side including Penn Station, Bus Terminal Redevelopment, Hudson Yards, etc.
A vision similar to mine for my minecraft city
I always thought tower fifth would look better with a spire, takes away from its chunky looking design
I agree. It would look amazing in the heart of midtown to have such a nice peak.
Nice! I should model this.
