Both LIC and DTBK have better skylines than Downtown Los Angeles…and are growing far faster and taller. Very impressive
Well, DTBK maybe yes, but LIC still lacks an iconic building that makes a difference…
We’re probably two years away from someone saying here that New Rochelle has a “better” skyline than downtown Los Angeles LOL.
LA also has two supertall buildings. LIC will never have that because of LGA.
I mean these skylines continue to grow meanwhile DTLA has pretty much been stagnant. LIC has multiple skyscrapers going up, LA has none. Wouldn’t be too far fetched to say soon
But downtown Los Angeles has a much more interesting and diverse skyline, whereas Long Island City is almost entirely glass boxes. Los Angeles even has an abandoned graffiti-covered high-rise construction site, which adds a lot of pizzazz to the skyline. Whereas Long Island City got rid of Five Pointz and replaced it with a boring apartment building.
Definitely won’t disagree with that. LIC badly needs a stand out tower aside from the glass boxes.
An iridescent gold glass tower would do the trick. LOL
designed by ZHA pleaseeee I need them back in NYC
