This one is under construction now. Already a few floors up.
Hopefully this doesn’t go the route of Tribeca Royale aka 19 Park Place. That thing, is still u/c. Taking a very long time.
Sam Chang And Marriott Partner On New Comfort Inn At 337 West 36th Street, Midtown Manhattan
Located between Penn Station and Times Square, Marriott International and developer Sam Chang have partnered on another high-rise hotel property in Midtown, Manhattan. The final product is currently under construction at 337 West 36th Street and is expected to top-off at 23 stories.
The development replaces a vacant four-story building on the north side of 36th Street between Eighth and Ninth Avenues. The narrow build site measures only 25 feet wide requiring a tall, slender tower to meet client requirements.
Designed by Gene Kaufman Architects, the hotel transitions from grey-palette stone to more traditional brick masonry. The building is topped by a spacious penthouse punctuated by reflective glass elements.
When complete, the Marriott-owned property will offer budget accommodations under the Comfort Inn moniker. Accommodations will include 89 guest rooms with 4 keys per floor, a cellar-level breakfast room and outdoor patio, and 10th floor terraces for select suites. The 23rd floor penthouse will occupy the entire width of the building.
