NEW YORK | Jackson Park (Tishman Speyer LIC) | 590 + 504 + 442 FT | 53 + 45 + 42 FLOORS

This really could apply to many other tower threads, but Tishman can be seen. A city in itself.

Can’t wait to see the next wave starting!

I agree.

Its a nice feeling to see this wave end, and yet the excavators, demo, and foundation work starting for numerous sites.

Its like in Lower Manhattan for example. 111 Murray, 56 Leonard, 99 Church where all in the stages of finishing, and yet… the skyline will be dotted with cranes for the years to come as 45 Broad, park row, hopefully 80 South, P and 200 Greenwich, Wall St tower and so on rise.

Its a nice aesthetic touch, and kinda coincides with the peaks of the boom cycle.

What would be depressing is if the cranes came down, and it appeared as if the city stalled. But such is not the case.

the first tower is complete. I imagine the next two won’t be far behind.

Some retail already in. Still working on the amenities in the back and still some construction elevators up.

I know they have to advertise, but one of my pet peeves on these luxury towers is those tacky ads that they have up top. LIC towers are covered in them.

if this were built in any other american city, it would be the greatest thing since sliced bread. In NYC it’s mediocre. Well, maybe that’s too harsh. It’s incredible for the outer boroughs. It really transformed the LIC skyline, but its about to be overshadowed by Cityview Tower, Queens Plaza Park and the Stawski Tower.

This is basically an all residential version of Wolf Point in Chicago. Three towers, all glass, boring massings. Slab-like. I would argue these are far more transformative, altering the cityscape and bringing thousands of new residents to LIC.

From my walk around LIC today, you really come to appreciate the low rise factories that are finding new life and being repurposed. It’s a nice respite from the all glass snooze fest going up. I saw plenty of older factories that were having their tilework ornamentation restored too. More of that please.
