NEW YORK | Hudson Yards Rezoned District | 43M SF

Site K or 418 11th Ave. Part 2

This is all the information which was posted on SSP, this blue bar is supposed to represent a skyscraper over 950 feet tall.

I have drawn it in, but I could imagine that it would be a little taller if you build a peak on the roof.

Now let’s hope that soon the proposals will be presented so that the official Topic can become more interesting again.

When will the new offers actually be published? but not that the RFP will be withdrawn.

The RFP will not be withdrawn again. ESDC also does not have to publish the submissions, that is at the discretion of the applicant (just like Peebles published their proposal). ESDC need only release the sole winner of the RFP.

The recent deadline on the 20th was just for submissions to be submitted, it does not entail submissions being released to the public.

Me in off from Canada:

Thanks TKDV for your answer, so we still have to wait until the official renderings are released. Well hopefully soon in the official topic the renderings will be posted.

Site K

What is the content of the other points (7-9)?

I still estimate that we will see a 1000-1200 feet tall proposal here.

There’s nothing quite in a gray area, they describe quite literally what they entail.

ESD will interview the submittees, they will then announce the proposal they believe is the best/have chosen, and then will announce when the contract between ESD and the proposal winner will begin (this doesn’t mean start of construction though). They are just all TBD because there is no timeline for how long those 3 steps will take.

These would be the future sites for redevelopment, where perhaps the RFP of Site K has made a start. Hopefully something similar to 130 William Street will be built on Site K, just not a boring glass box. Peebles may have resubmitted his affirmative proposal with reduced height.

What could follow on these properties? other than HY Phase Two.

Are you talking about the block bound by 29th and 30th St? Phase 2 only takes up the space bound by 30th and 33rd. The block from 33rd to 34th is owned by the state/Javits, so they will be the ones deciding what can be built there.

As to the first one you’re asking about (which im unsure which block you’re refering to) im sure in the future the area will be rezoned and some small highrises will be built.

Also, your second screenshot shows the block of 3 Hudson Blvd, so that lot is already taken.

So the property between 33rd and 34th Street belongs to the state and could be redeveloped through an RFP.

Concerning, especially given that Phase 2 is mostly resi. Having said that, I think doubling down on residential will make a more attractive place to live. Right now it feels a bit sterile and lifeless.

Just looking at those aerials, the amount of space that is yet to be added to that section of the rail yard. Already imposing enough HY, and still another section with potential super talls or near-supertalls.
