It’s been included Penn15 but not the whole Empire Station Complex yet.
That’s gonna be massive …

Multiple floors dedicated to gaming?

Theres only 4-5 floors and thats pretty modest given how much space casinos normally take up when they are only 1 story, keep in mind that the entire podium isnt just machines and tables, its also shops, restaurants, conference space, the pool/other amenities and most likely a theater.

It’s the New York way. $$$$$$$$$$$$

That view looking North from the Jersey City waterfront is going to be killer!

:sparkling_heart:

Hudson Yards is all about the angles. It has many looks and styles depending where one is on a 360 basis.

The view from the Manhattan bridge heading into Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridge, IMO, is the strongest angle. 10 Hudson does a lot in the whole aesthetics. Often overlooked by its bigger brother 30 Hudson but it adds a big cherry to the whole thing.

Now jumble Phase II into this, and man, what a sight it will be.

What I’m referring to angle wise. Via live cams today.

They must’ve been late to the news since those are all renders that were released at the beginning

I more so want to see views of the other parts of the complex but I know they wont be shown as much since the focus is the resort.

Yeah I thought I was having deja vu but navigating the thread isn’t as easy on mobile so I uploaded figuring someone would confirm.

Could there be a delay if Related does not receive a casino licence? Because a platform that is required for Western Yards costs a lot of money. Could Related actually start building 40 Hudson Yards (marketing)?

A delay in what specifically?

There will be a delay either way if they receive or do not receive a license. Getting the license would speed up approval for the platform to be built but there is the current delay in the submission deadline anyways, not getting it they would just have to wait again for it to be approved. So no, they can’t build 40 HY while they wait to see if they get a license because they don’t want to blindly start construction of it and the platform.

I think the better question is: if they don’t get a casino license, will Related build the deck or phase 2 at all. My money is on no.

They will with due time, but they won’t just immediately start building the original plan if they aren’t awarded a license. Even though they pledged to build thousands of apts, they want to build more commercial developments (that is why they want the license), which everyone is weary of at the moment, the market conditions that is, and they would need to go through a new rezoning to address that want.

I have always been opposed to building the Casino for no other reason than my personal anti-gambling sentiments. However, the Highline Senior Director of Community Relations has some solid points to make regarding opposition to the Casino.

Quote from the Our Town article posted above -
"The western railyard was contemplated as a counterpoint to the eastern rail yard,” said Preeti Sodhi, the High Lines senior director of community and government relations. “Where the eastern rail yard is largely commercial and retail, the western rail yards proposed over 3,500 residential units, a school and some commercial space at the northern end of the development.”*
While the 2009 plan meshed with the High Line, Sodhi told Community Board 4, that the new plan would be “a significant change to both the use and scale and type of buildings. In addition the use has flipped from mainly residential to mainly commercial and includes an open space layout that is significantly altered. The development plan would gravely threaten the visitor experience on the northern most stretch of the High Line and have profound effects on our entire community.”
She described the casino plan, undertaken with Wynn, as “a giant podium bigger than six Costco warehouses that will overwhelm the High Line and reduce the amount of housing.”* END QUOTE
