Worst of both worlds: monotonous and bland looking facade with transgressive topsy turvy design. And as more towers get built the top heavy silhouette will not even be visible.

I too find this these two towers particularly attractive; especial given the Architecturally dull surrounding skyline of LIC and Greenpoint. I survey that landscape and see all those other tall ‘artless’ towers lined up along the waterfront; only to come surprisingly upon that delightful looking architectural assemblage that is Greenpoint Landing.

The only “monotony” on that Greenpoint/LIC waterfront is every other neighboring hi-rise apartment building. I am glad someone finally came along to add some Architectural Delight to that otherwise bleak landscape.
