Does anyone know if the hotel component will break ground this year?
Are those auto shops in the same plot of land as the stadium?
If you look carefully, there’s a small side street next to the stadium. The telephoto lens compression makes it look closer than it really is and hides the street. The stadium has its own plot.
If you look at one of the renderings, there are still junky chop shops and other low-rise structures still there although the corner photographed seems to be the back, by Citi Field.
It really does make for an interesting juxtaposition though. Although, I do hope that junk gets torn down as it really degrades the area.
Junky shops that serve a purpose.
i think theyre doing foundation work? dont have pics to prove unfortunately

i still feel like 25k seats is a slightly small capacity. i get it thats prob all they could do given the space but this could easily be 30-40k

is the development next door open to the public yet? or still covered in scaffolding?
Most of the newer MLS stadiums now average around 20K seats. Owners realized it’s better to create a more intimate atmosphere that will sell out, and by raising prices, it will offset any loss of profit due to a lower seat count. I get that the demand will obviously be there, but it will price out some fans.
It was only a matter of time. While we are at it, let’s bring all the New York teams home. The New York Giants, NY Jets, Redbull New York and New York Sirens.
By the time they’re ready to move out of Metlife Flushing won’t have any free space left
Nice to see they got the landscaping going early.
That would be a lot of towers to dump on the 7 train line.
