Someone finally bought one of these giant airplane hangers in the sky.
That was a fun 6 minuets.
Very nice to ‘also’ see the interiors of these architectural masterpieces.
I believe the manufacturer puts a slight tint on those windows to cut down on the glare of the sun: the ‘solar heat gain’ from those floor-to-ceiling windows is still a major consideration. I like the simple explainations provided in this Science Direct article.
The space looks great, but the “solar heat gain” for apartments that face south/east is massive. I guess the added electrical bill for AC is not a concern if you can afford to buy into a luxury high rise condo on 57th street…

“This study provides a framework for simulation-based optimization of window configuration for a high-rise building to minimize its energy consumption.”
loved the walk through.
They turned CPT’s mechanical floor decorative lights back on today. Perhaps there’s a glimmer of hope and the crown will come back on in the coming days too.
Oklahoma is gonna build a 1900’ tower and we can’t even turn/keep the lights on 57th Street.
Couldn’t even cover the “spire” of One World Trade either. Yep, still salty.
The lighting on this building is really a joke
I agree with all the crit on the lighting…
OK NYC, time to get your Architectural Crown Lighting act together.
