I could not believe how tall this thing is when the clouds cleared last night. As soon as I saw it I said, “Holy shit that’s Central Park Tower!?” This thing is incredibly dominant, more imposing than I thought. And we still have 120 feet left, rise CPT rise!

Residential floors are done now, when I was there I saw them lifting things on the setback where it won’t rise anymore. The netting should move up not long from now

The parts that have been unwrapped look pretty great. I wonder when they will unwrap the rest in earnest.

They’ll probably get rid of it in sections as the glass moves up. If you noticed, there’s a few single floors with tape off

5Bfilms: Why are all your images so dark? Is your monitor too bright? Perhaps you are going for the noir/cinematic look

lol - taking photos from a moving boat after sunset isn’t the brightest of ideas, I’ll give you that.

True, your exposure time must’ve been low. That’s why the shot is dark. For those who don’t understand, you want lower exposure during the day because of all of the light in frame. When it’s dark, you want high exposure time to make the frame brighter…that also captures things moving like cars or FAA lights
For example of high exposure

I kinda like the darkness of this. It gives a “Gotham city” vibe.

I prefer slow shutter speeds and wide apertures to high ISOs. I never shoot above 1200 (ever) so I guess I prefer blurry shots to sharp noisy ones. Although I consider myself a film guy, digital is very forgiving so that leaves you with a lot of discretion in post. That said, maybe it could be a little lighter…

I think the direction of your photos are what make it superb. The contrasts between shadow and light. The film noir look, capturing the Gotham vibe. Its honestly one of my favorite attributes of your photos. Its unique. :beers:

Has a raw feel to it. Not salt of the earth, but gotham raw.

There is nothing more satisfying then somebody who just gets it. Sincerely, thank you Chris.

Next floor, second floor in the crown, should pass Willis Tower’s roof
