Interestingly it doesn’t look that much taller than the surrounding buildings that aren’t anywhere near 700 feet. I hate to see pertruding mechanicals/cores like that.

The core would be OK if they stuck a spire on it. I think it would work well with the design, at least from that angle.

If this rendering is accurate, there are plans to build it out a bit with an overhang for the pool area. Might help to make it stick out a little less prominently. But who knows how accurate it is. (As is, it shows the mechanical standing far less tall than we now see it to be in reality.)
