What is possible? A 900 feet high project on this site, yes that would be more likely.
Thanks, i do not remember this proposal at all.
we need supertalls
100 Supertalls in NYC
this is a good location
1,200 feet or higher, like the proposal states.
Read.
too low. 900 feet over 1200 is much better.
Im personally more interested in the design rather than height in this location. I would really like to see something with a twin peak ala the San Remo Towers or something with really nice glasswork like the Tours HEKLA in Paris.
You’re not being cynical and, actually, thank you for this dose of sanity!
kinda makes me wish for our own tour montparnasse
No it’s just cynicism. This mindset has been held for every neighborhood in the city since before the ESB was built.
The idea that the UWS will never have another tower this tall ever is simply not based in reality.
And yet, not every neighborhood is full of skyscrapers… thankfully. Some neighborhoods have successfully kept them out as mentioned by Marshall (did you even read his post? lol).
So I think what you’re saying is not based in reality.
MarshallKnight. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not suggesting the area south of 72nd should become another midtown. I’m just observing that large buildings, though nothing like the huge proposal, already exist to the north. I actually think such a tall structure like the one proposed would be grossly out of place across the street from Tully Hall.
