lol London has plenty of nondescript “crap” in prime areas.
Robert has super high standards for NYC and I’m 100% with him on it.
Good luck with the forum, guys! Go NYC!!
I think it’s actually the Philippines consulate. The embassy is in Washington, DC.
Same in Rome, but don’t tell Robert
What is the scope of this project? Has there ever been a render?
Does anyone know something about this mega project?
I think as Robert Walpole said before, that area needs badly a redevelopment, this is a world class city, not Calcutta.
This project is going on? Or has been stalled with the pandemics?
I think such a huge amount of space in such a prime location could give the city its best contemporary skyscraper…
Looks like 2-8 west 47th will come down next.
10 west 47th looks like it is already gutted from the back.
With this one, it will be about street-level impact. It doesn’t need to be a huge cloud-buster to make some change on that block. Even a small podium would make a huge difference.
Is there a render for this?
I wonder if Extell owns the LLC that bought this.
I’d be shocked if it doesn’t.
This could be a massive site. Has there ever been a proposal for this site?
That is great news! I really hope the buyer is actually Extell so they get the entire 5th Ave frontage.
I walked by again a couple days ago and saw that the ground floor retail was still open but looked like they were packing up- most display cases seemed empty. Most floors seemed empty except for a few that still had lights on.
I like this building a lot and would have loved to see it restored. However, if its sacrifice means a 1,000’+icon, I’d be pleased.
As I’ve said before, I hope that something decent comes up on this site. Several buildings destroyed, hope the sacrifice is worth it.
So basically another building to raise the midtown plateau up a couple notches to its new 1,000-foot minimum for any kind of impact. And yes, I made a gambling reference there.
3 new supertalls for fifth avenue, 2 slender towers and one girthy one.
Great new renderings by @rgarri4 showing 570 Fifth Avenue in the 175 Park Avenue thread and currently (28/12) in the 570 Fulton Street thread.
520 Fifth Avenue
570 Fifth Avenue
I have lost the third. Sorry. Which one?
