There is no updated timeline that indicates when that would be now.
me too
The Commercial Observer article gives the clearest view so far of this new model:
On the one hand, this massing will have a very dull silhouette especially from the Hudson, and won’t have the nice staggered setbacks that echoed 3WTC and 4WTC. But there could be something nice in the simple geometry of two intersecting slabs (I can’t quite make it out, but the small eastern setback on the tower doesn’t seem to be present in this model).
It looked so much better before. I’m really gonna hate if it actually got tweaked
From an outside and contextual perspective, the change is uglier and not as in sync with the rest of the site. However, from the standpoint, there are now more units facing the Hudson River and sunsets for clients.
I wonder if RAL wouldve had arranged financing by now, had their plan went through.
Supposedly Silverstein+Brookfield had 4 years to do so, but they’re still looking for a bank loan as of late last year.
That was a pretty decent proposal. I also liked the one by Dalian Wanda which was residential and hotel. The only thing i would have changed about it was the height. That way it wouldn’t have been taller than 4wtc and thrown off the spiral
This one worked the best in my opinion, with the overall aesthetic of the WTC complex.
On brand for Davis Brody Bond. They’ve been involved in the site since the 90’s.
Will the construction start in 15th June?
Why you’re throwing random dates?
As in Silverstein fashion, they’re trying to get a bank loan, per his words from last September, so nobody knows.
Google’s AI comes with such a date.
Nope, same as 2WTC I think both plots stay empty for many years to come. Fences, not cranes at the 25th anniversary.
Not a new render, but it’s another one of the renders that Plomp did for KPF (and was never shown anywhere apparently).
DBOX only did the nighttime renders out of the ones released since 2021.
Crazy that they got this building approved but then dont have the funding for it. We could have had this building started already if it wasn’t for the whole affordability issue that delayed it and the funding issue. Hopefully it’ll rise within the next few years and doesn’t pull a 2wtc
Betcha! This will become the next beer garden once they start T2 soon.
With no construction in that area (til 5WTC starts), what purpose does that lot now serve? Remnant from the park/church construction?
