Very ‘clever’ design. This building design is clever in the sense that it is both ‘buildable’ and ‘beautiful’. The buildable part is the result of the erector set, or lego, components; all of which can be efficiently manufactured and effectively constructed on-site.

It is entirely a ‘rectilinear’ structure: a complete absence of any curves, or odd shapes. This building is - regardless of its simple straight lined form - a beauty to behold.

I applaud the ‘cleverness’ of this Architectural Design. :star_struck:

I agree, I rather like the shape of this tower. Not a box but also not too crazy ornate or complicated. I think anything else would detract from 111 w 57th. To me that’s the jewel of the area.

Great find!

It’s almost like a disjointed clothespin.

Seems more and more like a pretty straightforward build for the area. Tall, Skinny and Glassy. Everything modern-day New York is.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that on 57th. I just wish there was more variation around the city.

Very nice! I’m surprised that there are only 33 condos.

This simple design is fine; but they must spare no expense on the finest materials for the curtain wall facade.

Thick solid materials, fine quality glass, the best stone, heavy gauge metal - all panels exquisitely refined and fitted - that will be what brings this up to the level of ICONIC.

It was designed by OMA New York. It should have the best design quality among all 57th St towers. Pure and contemporary architecture that belongs to our times. :zap: :slightly_smiling_face:

The architect described it as simple, but I think that it’s an ornate design. The huge indentations on the east and west facades are pretty unique, as is the way it splays out on the southwest side. Also, the slope on the north and west facades is interesting. This definitely isn’t a box.

This will round out the CPS skyline very nicely. All it needs is a limestone tower at the Helmsley Park Lane.

I would personally try and keep the tower that currently fronts Central Park and simply buy out surrounding neighbors.

Per NYGuy on SSP, this tower is fully approved.

If this looks like the current renders I think this will be the best looking Modern-style skyscraper on Billionaire’s Row. Way more dynamic and interesting than 432 or CPT. I’d rate Steinway and 220CPS higher but those aren’t really “Modern” in style.

The developer will pay for elevators to be built at the 57th Street station on the “F” train.

This is the clearest render I’ve seen so far. You can see a bit of texture in the facade so I don’t think it’s uniform reflective glass.

I’m guessing that the East/West facades will be mostly concrete shear walls, like we saw with 111 W. 57th.

Looks nice and will definitely compliment 111 West 57th

Probably. That’s where the elevator core is:
