35 is the best of the HY buildings IMO. It’s not stupendous. But at least it has mullions, is not solid glass, and has interesting shapes, at least for the top third. It actually has a discernible bottom, middle, and top. The top is especially good. The building sorta gets lost amid the monsters around it but if it was in midtown I think it would fit well and be highly praised. 15 is ok. It’s top is the best part tho it’s impact is reduced by all of the mechanical stuff that mars the facade. Too bad the whole thing is solid glass.

35 Hudson yards would be a legitimate star skyscraper on the skyline of any other American city (except maybe Chicago) or even in Europe. It’s a beautiful building and only in NYC would a building like this go unrecognized.

No kidding. It’s almost the exact shape and height of LA’s crown jewel, the US Bank Tower, so when I look at Hudson Yards with that in mind, the shocking scale of Manhattan skyscrapers comes into focus. My city’s tallest (by roof height) tower would barely register.

I wish the crown was lit at night. It’s as tall as LA’s second tallest building.

This tower and 15 Hudson Yards are wasted potential with their lack of crown lighting.
