Microsoft Corp. is considering a large lease in Soho where it would open a flagship retail store and potentially take office space as well.
The tech company, which has sought to follow rivals such as Apple and Amazon into the world of brick and mortar retail, has been looking at 300 Lafayette St., a boutique office and retail building being developed by the Related Cos. and owned by Nightingale Properties.
Another source cautioned that a transaction for the still-under-construction project is not yet close to being finalized. When scaffolding is removed from the roughly 80,000 square foot property in the coming months, marketing of the high-end building will begin in earnest and other takers might emerge, that person said.
I drove by today but didnt get pics. Those detailed perforated fences on the middle floors looked really great in person. If anyone is in that area soon, take pics! Love how this is turninng out.
