This is a stunning tower.
“Fintech firm Hudson River Trading will expand its 3 World Trade Center offices by 75,207 square feet, landlord Silverstein Properties announced.
Hudson River Trading signed a 13-year expansion for space on the 72nd and 73rd floors of the 80-story tower, bringing its presence in the property to 211,207 square feet, according to the landlord.”
Anyone know the percentage of how much this is leased?
over 80% - it’s closer to 90% with the recent expansion by HRT
Incredible, the leasing happening at the site is very good now. Come on 5 and 2 World Trade!!!
Rogers was the architect of 3 WTC. RIP, I think it’s a very handsome tower and it’s my personal favorite of the built towers at the WTC.
RIP, sir.
He was a great architect. Pompidou, which I’ve visited a couple of times, is one of the most intriguing buildings I’ve ever stepped into. Remarkably inventive and creative.
Clients that enjoyed those unobstructed views may not be so happy to see cross-bracing installed in front of their windows.
I would like the spires to come back. But from an engineering perspective, I’m not sure how much was ‘left in place’ in the event that they were added or if the redesign made it an impossibility.
Edit: catching up on old photos. From Q4 2021:
In my book, the building doesn’t look finished because they lowered the roof height, ripped off the x-bracing, and stripped the building of the spires. It was supposed to be 1240 ft tall, nearly the same height as the Empire State Building.
The four spires would make a world of difference.
