Finally saw the lights with my own eyes
Considering how extensive this lighting is, I imagine it’ll be incredibly expensive to maintain this. Hoping JPM is willing to continue paying!
Nice. I left the city before I got a chance to see it lit. I saw a small strip lit and that was it. It also looks like that the visible white strips have had their temperature warmed up, too. Some appear bright white and others look warmer.
I think it should also be noted that the floor to ceiling glass is already installed where the temporary elevator is. If anything they probably still have to install the glass attached to the slabs like CPT
Spectacular. As @Arik mentioned it appears the lighting on the N/S sides in the tiers below the 4th and 5th are RGB meaning they can adjust the white to be warm instead of cool. This will better match the temperature of the white on the diamonds.
Took these today.
Wasn’t able to take a picture, but saw this coming into the city from NJ at night – it is BRIGHT. Too bright? Remains to be seen… I’d love for this to take its (prominent) place in the skyline, but not overwhelm everything else.
I imagine there will be lots of fine tuning.
New York finally gets a tower with world class lighting
They just announced that the Fourth of July 4th fireworks show will be on the East River again this year. I wonder if it’s too much to ask for 270 to try it’s red, white, and blue color scheme. It would be amazing to see ESB, One Vanderbilt, and 270 lit up together in the same colors like a trio.
Plenty of shades of blue being tested last night.
No, it’s perfect. Finally, NYC gets a new tower with incredible lighting.
“Finally” I guess we forgot about the Empire State Building and Chrysler Building
I think you skipped over the part where it says “new tower”. ESB and Chrysler are not new.
completion is still slated for this year? Seems like quite a bit to still be done for 6 months. Remember One V still taking a while to complete after it topped out
Any one have an update on the Madison Ave side rock wall? Getting late if there is going to be planting or what we see now is its final iteration.
I made sure to check out the rock walls during my visit. I had better views walking past the actual fencing along the side, but it would be hard to take photos through the green coverings on the fencing.
I noticed not much change regarding the actual stone on the walls, but it does seem like they’re working on the base/pools at the base of each wall.
Other 270 Park Photos:
I got to see some lighting being tested even in the daylight.
Thanks for the update.
