The lights on the N/S sides are visible to the eye, the lights on the diamonds E/W are cove lights so you are seeing the light bounce off the metal panels which is what is giving it a warmer tone.
Lol more like the lights infront of them, it looks sort of indiscernable but the diamonds should read more when all of the “screen” lights are on, they are just sort of on here and there so its making it difficult to read. I’d say maybe only 25% of the screen is on.
I’m late to the party, but they’re testing a big chunk of the bright white lighting tonight. We’re inching ever so closer to seeing the whole thing lit.
Whoa!! Had no idea there’d be so many vertical lights!! I figured the 4th/5th tiers would have internal lighting like the top floors of the 4th tier! If the 5th tier is lit like it all around, it’ll easily be the brightest supertall in NYC!
It’s red and purple(?) tonight again with the diamonds on. The big bonus is that they’re testing more of the colourful LEDs on the second to the top tier.
I think it makes more sense that the red and purple that you are perceiving from the live feeds is probably/potentially blue and orange for the Knicks. These live feeds greatly distort color levels.
An example of the live feeds distorting colors is that when 50 Hudson Yards’ crown is lit up for the 4th of July, the camera’s make it look like its orange, white, and purple (instead of red white and blue) the same distortion is occurring here.
The majority of the lights also turned off about 10 mins ago when i was looking at the camera to see the colors, sort of weird to witness them turn off.
With so many floors fully built out at this point, I’m surprised they didn’t do more of a phased move in here. Seems like most of the building will be moved-in ready by the time the first set of employees move in.
