I didnât think this tower would have such a dark tone, but like Sears Tower and the John Hancock Tower the tone itself to me says âhey, look at me!â and it works!
Goddamn!! that looks amazing!
Thereâs no way. A skyscraper with modern lighting that isnât perpetual broken in NYC in the big 25â
Enough to make a grown man cry
I hate to be blunt, but give it a year or two. I bet some sections will be out by then due to weather. It is a $3 billion skyscraperâŚyet so is Central Park Tower
Different projects. CPT is a residential skyscraper, 270 is a trophy tower for a business.
Not to say it wonât happen (this is NYC after all) but I think itâs less likely. Plus the lighting seems to be a major part of this building, more so than almost any other major building in the city.
Iâm tending to agree here. This isnât just any bank. Itâs the largest bank in the United States. It is the largest bank in the world by market cap. It has a history that dates back to 1799 which includes both Aaron Burr and part of the Rockefeller family. It has had several headquarters in NYC in its lifetime. It also owns this tower itself.
This isnât just any firm nor any tower. I sincerely hope they keep the lights on. They sure as hell can afford it!
CPT is back to being lit a fter a long hiatus. I donât give it long before something breaks again but at least its lit again.
Electricity plus weather = constant maintenance.
Beautiful Truly a modern-day icon day and night! These recent pics have all been great as we get to the final months of construction (and the eventual moment when this will be fully lit)!
Finally saw the strip lights with my own eyes, the testing is still wildly random (seemingly anyways). If any of the lights do end up going off they will be very noticable.
(Sorry for potato quality photos)
It does seem like today is the first day theyâve tested these lights in particular on the 4th tier?
Great pic up close. Hereâs a side profile from further away.
Does anyone know the reason there seem to be 2 different shades/brightness light strips? I prefer the soft yellow to the bright white, but I also donât want to judge an unfinished project.
Well this allays my fears that the lighting on the top two diamonds will be blown out by the other inset lights behind them.
Also thanks for the heads up since I know the lights will appear on this other cam I follow:
