Imagine it’s 2034 and you take a few minutes outside of Grand Central to admire your surroundings. Immediately next to you is One Vanderbilt. 270 Park, finished and gleaming, is an instant icon. Nearby, you’d see the Grand Hyatt building reaching towards that 1575 ft height! What a sight to behold in the coming years (and a testament to how much NYC has changed in the past few decades)!
Anybody savvy on feng shui for this building?
They’ve put up three floors of cladding in the past week… seems like they’re perfectly capable of going fast if they want to. Anybody know what might be preventing them from going this fast until cladding is complete? Also, are they able to install cladding when it’s raining? I assume no.
Anything, there’s not really one particular thing that would prevent them from doing so (besides maybe a work stop order). But going back to what I mentioned previously, Over 50% of the cladding left is mechanical cladding, which for this project has historically taken longer to install, they could certainly continue at the same pace with the rest of the floors left on this tier (barring any preventions or unpreventable situations) but they will slow down again past this tier.
This is a yes and no question, cladding is perfectly capable of being installed in the rain, it is just more dangerous for working conditions so it is generally not done.
^What a monolith. Almost fills up the entire sky from that angle lol
How much SQF were added by tearing down the old building and replacing it with this?
A million.
I’m hearing it’s not big enough to house their employees that are currently spread across their three midtown offices (383 Madison Ave, 277 Park Ave and 390 Madison Ave). Seems like an odd oversight or, if intentional, an odd strategy.
Does anyone have an idea of how much longer it usually takes to complete the office buildout of the upper floors of buildings this size relative to the bottom floors? A few years or a few months?
i dont think this will be 100% fit out for a couple years. they will occupy it before it is completely done
Hearing from what exactly? It was designed to hold their entire workforce in the region
My understanding is they recently extended leases
