The safety cocoon is slowly being dismantled, there is also formwork being built inside/around the core of the conference center, I can’t tell what shape it is being assembled in, whether it is a circle (like the mezzanine floor of the conference center) or ellipse, a rectangle or other polygon. It’s possible that a TMD is being installed here.
Cladding is also progressing rapidly, I don’t see why the cladding wouldn’t all be finished in October, but that is all dependent on there being no delays or inconveniences.
But for the small south facing portion, all fragments of the safety cocoon have been removed, leaving only the upper half of the 4th tier to be fireproofed.
Lots of carts with panels on them awaiting to be installed above the current level of cladding.
We can better see the formwork/pour being built up on the conference level and its circular nature, im still unsure of what this is and whether it will be built on the opposite side as well. The render of the conference floors viewing the east side do not show this structure which would align with what is being built now.
I wish I had my camera with me to take better photos but this was a very last minute work visit (on my end) to Summit OV.
At this rate, perhaps it’ll be fully clad by June! The current tier is moving up fast~!
To those who are familiar with construction, do steelworkers (and others responsible for building this up) shift to other areas of the building once things are topped-out, or are there only so many workers who work on solely one thing (cladding, etc)? Sorry for such a newb question
I’m aware one wouldn’t ask a plumber to help with, say… wiring. I’m just wondering if construction workers are specialized in multiple areas to be employed longer (vs letting go of steelworkers once there’s no more steel to erect)
