Never noticed that circular floor slab just under the terrace, very nice! Love the open space in Foster’s projects

That’s the mezzanine level of the conference floors.

Sunlight really likes this one

I also walked around the base but didn’t take any pictures, there wasn’t anything “new” to report besides more of what we’ve already seen (the back support portion of the cladding being installed).

Ha I think I was somewhere close to you today. I shot some sunset pictures from the India Street/Greenpoint ferry dock. Beautifully crisp day.

I like how close the facade is following along. A lot of attention on the crown understandably but the second tier is almost done. I think cladding the third tier will really change the “personality” of this building as much of it will be in the sun throughout the day.

Agreed! As the sun hits different parts of the next tier of (future) cladding, its full presence is REALLY going to stand out! I only got to see it a month ago, but it’s already apparent it will be an all-time favorite once done!

And it’s construction ends here

It still has another set of beams (along with the rest of the cladding & interior work) before construction ends

Need like two more supertalls and that skyline really comes together

A few more supertalls between 1Vanderbilt and ESB would REALLY fill out this new “supertall skyline”! 20 years ago, the ESB & Chrysler would’ve been the tallest tower in Mackensen’s first pic by hundreds of feet! :exploding_head:

Not sure if this has been asked, but would 270 technically be the widest supertall in Manhattan?
