That’s true. All three of those hideous towers will all straddle 5th. An exorcism is warranted.

I doubt you’re in the minority. Those blank walls are an absolute abomination.

I’m in the minority who like this tower. I just like height and units. We need to keep growing.

Was hoping this was dead!! But alas…

One bit of hope, it says in the above documents that an updated design was completed in March 2020.

I agree. I really hope that the insane metal facade on 5th is muerte.

Hopefully with this project, 520 and 562 5th, that avenue can be updated significantly.

Looks like a diagram?

Edit: looks like the tower will pretty much be the same

I hoped this wouldn’t be built. A 1,000 steel facade on 5th Ave sounds insane.

Dang, supertalls are going up like crazy. Didn’t even notice this one being built.

I’m pretty stunned that this is actually moving forward after years of crickets. So stunned in fact, I’ll believe it when it’s actually rising above ground

I agree with you 100%. What on earth is going on. How did they get this rolling so suddenly

At the very least those weird round windows will have to be enlarged in size. Who would buy a unit where a whole side was blocked off like that for no reason?

I bet it has to do with 421a which expires in 22’ . Everybody and they mamma are trying get approved and start construction before it expires. Not saying but maybe that’s why things that been silent for years now are all of sudden just appearing out of nowhere.
