Just…
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’d prefer nothing get built here to this. You get only one shot to build this tower, and on such an important site, it should be done right.
It’s just as tall as 3wtc was originally conceived. It has the same RSF as towers 3 and 4.
The original design had 3.1m RSF, you could have a rooftop terrace above it’s podium and do nice reconfigurations upon it.
It’s been 24 years and the design keeps getting worse.
The drawing is different from the one in 2023
Lol. Can’t say I’m surprised - the entire rebuilding process has been a complete joke. They couldn’t even complete 1 WTC - the crown jewel of the new complex, with a proper spire. I hope this design fades into obscurity where it belongs. Just build the f**king original design and move on. The state should just freaking help build this already. I can’t believe how this has all turned out - the most important site in the city and one of the most important sites in the country.
I also noticed that the smaller balconies are gone.
Not sure why they keep using the original height of 3 in these.
This can’t be real…It’s so laughably bad.
2 Regional Trade Center
I need to apologize to my friends who said the site should just stay as a park.
If they want to go through with this slop then they should just change the name. It doesn’t deserve it anymore. Let it be like the Ingolstadt Burger King fiasco.
bro came back from the dead to hate
It looks like it still meets the stepping-up theme of the complex. If this means it actually gets done, then I can live with it. But drop the damn spire. Why on earth would it need two?
The footprint is split to 5 and not 6 segments now, and the upper third of the building is comically small and unremarkable, sad excuse of a tower
The fact that you’ve had to redraw this several times in the last few years is painful.
My only real gripe is the reduced height. The top segment should be slightly below the roofline of 1WTC. I don’t mind the spire to be honest, that’s really the least offensive change among the numerous revisions over the course of the last several years IMO.
People are talking about a different developer, just hire a different Architect already…
Well, Silverstein is the one who chopped 150ft off it. These people somehow find this to be attractive…
We’ve gone 25 years and only degradations in design because of the developer.
