I hope so. That weave is absurd.
Looks like they were doing some work, but hopefully yeah, itâll be abandoned. While there was occupancy, IDK what was going on in that penthouse, but looks like they are renovating it. That penthouse is quite sick. 2 levels, spiral staircase outside, expansive. I did spot some guy in it, looking out the window, and chatting on his cell phone. Those windows are so transparent. Like I wouldnât walk around in the nude if I had the unit, because folks will see you.
Although I wouldnât overrule it 100%, it could come later.
I attended a meeting at the Bloomberg Tower once and was on the outdoor balcony during a break. A woman with a huge outdoor garden across Third was walking around completely naked. I enjoyed watching her, and she clearly enjoyed it because thousands of people in the surrounding towers could see her.
Yeah some folks are very confident in that sense. I guess its a perk of buying a unit/renting high above the street. Hell, bored?.. just whip the telescope out.
All of those windows will be getting some sort of window blind: home automated window blinds is the big thing now - âAlexa, close the blindsâ. I know for sure, as that is what I do - will probably be in there some time soon with a hammer drill installing brackets into the concrete ceiling slab.

Is that heinous screen up yet?
They should just keep the glass up instead
Hopefully, that horrible screen has been value engineered out.
Can anyone indicate whether that horrible screen has been installed on the ground level or has it been value-engineered out? I hope the latter.
Was there the other day. It wasnât.
Can I hear an âAmen,â yâall?
The developerâs website references this HORRENDOUS basket weave. Has it been installed? It would be a solid kick in the nads if the one instance of value engineering that weâd welcome does not occur. Further, as per todayâs Real Deal, this crap project is in trouble, so dumping money into a needless (and hideous) screen would be a true waste.
Itâs still not there so I donât think itâs happening
That would be almost as great as a threesome with Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez.
Since retail is tanking, I hope that Bloomies sells the Third Ave portion of its store. Itâs ugly and could be put to better use. A 900â+ tower there would have amazing views of the park.
Here is a view looking from the inside out; instead of our usual perspective looking from the outside into the interior. The interior build out is clean and simple - what those gaps in the ceiling are for one could only guess.
Must be vents or curtains, I figure
I assumed that it was for blinds/curtains.
P.S.: I hope that sales are struggling at this tower, as it will ensure that the horrible âweavedâ façade is never installed at the base.
Those slots are more than one foot away from the windows. I often install blinds/shades/curtains in these condo buildings: those are definitely not for window treatments. I am in-and-out all of these new condo buildings in NYC on a regular basis and must say those long thing âslotsâ in the ceiling is not something I have seen before: but yes, probably vents or some kind. Most of these high rise condo apartments have solid concrete slab ceilings; so this must be a dropped sheetrock ceiling - canât put vents into the solid concrete formwork. Always something new to learn here in YIMBY land.
