NEW YORK | 2 North 6th St | 398 FT | 40 FLOORS

Douglaston Development has filed a new building application for a third Edge tower, Brownstoner has learned. Since there are no renderings yet, here’s a picture of The Edge from U2, jamming with Bono. The new tower will probably look, and be, approximately that insufferable.

The proposed building would be designed by architects the Stephen B Jacobs group. It would rise 40 stories — 398 feet — and contain 554 units. In addition, there would be 678 square feet of commercial space, 160 “dry floodproofed” parking spaces, bike storage, regular storage, a business center, a playroom, an outdoor, a gym, and, most notably, a rooftop terrace with a barbecue, pool and hot tub. We, for one, cannot wait to see what the advertisements for this one are going to look like.

Nice findings. I was wondering what the height was on this one. Pretty tall for being such an unknown tower.

Only in New York would a 398 foot tower go unnoticed.

We need more of these towers. They help to create new skylines. I’m always a fan of those lone towers or small clusters of towers that overtime, become catalysts for high density growth in areas that were once nothing but warehouses.
