NEW YORK | 175 Park Avenue (Grand Hyatt) | 1,580 FT | 83 FLOORS

I’m not able to tune in. Does it seem like they will force them to redesign the building? More negative or positive reactions?

Also, one of the members were questioning what alternative will they support for this tall tower, considering its large size. They even mentioned this as a fundamental question, because if it is then how come there was no question on the support for 270 Park Avenue

Oh man… so just listening to the members of CB5 ramble on… I don’t think they like this. They all seem unanimous.

Essentially, this parcel is not having a good relationship established with Grand Central.

Very negative.

What a gaggle of numbskulls. The base is the best part.

Oh man, someone criticized the cladding of the building

This tower literally respects the Chrysler Building and yet they are saying negative things about it

The good news is that these idiotic community boards are just advisory and don’t have actually have any say on whether this is approved, right?

I agree, because regardless they will still get approved

It’s not a good sign regardless. Remember what happened to Tower Verre.

Almost every project in New York City gets scaled down drastically. Even One WTC!

This one member on the board clearly has a bias on tall buildings. Its so obvious.

The crown clearly appears to slope inward. I’d like to see a rendering of the East-West facade. Anyway, It looks amazing.

Your right. That, including One Vanderbilt, Central Park Tower, Hudson Yards, etc…

City will let it through with some minor changes, is my guess. They really need the new developments to keep the economy going. These people aren’t city planners or architects and their gut feelings aren’t ultimately what decides these buildings.
After this it goes to city planning office and the mayors office and they will let this thing through, even if there are objections from the board.

What person in their right mind is opposed to tall buildings in freakin’ midtown Manhattan?

These are the type of people who try to kill themselves by running their Tesla in a closed garage.

One of them said " the base has a very suburban quality"…

I mean, I do respect their opinion. But this tower is too great to be criticized

I bet they were the same people that criticized 432 Park, Steinway Tower, and CPT

What does that even mean…that’s a non sequitur…they’re just stringing random words together.
