Compared to this pic @infoshare posted in January, the only “change” I noticed was this thin antenna-looking thing :face_with_monocle:

My guess is that thin vertical stick is a lightening rod.

Does that BMU not have a place to hide? Really disappointing if not, kinda ruins it…

That is an eye sore. It seems there is no place to hide it as we can see straight through to the structural beams; so that BMU would be visible too. :star_struck:

That is unfortunate - these human window washers would be the only other way; instead of that big contraption on the roof.

Would probably be cost prohibitive to take that window cleaning option. This is one of those things that gets decided during the M&O (Maintenance & Operation) planning phase of the building design; I guess either the engineers, or architects thought a BMU would be the best option.

Enjoy the video…

Those “human window washers” are still in a BMU carriage in your other example, they would be in a BMU regardless on a skyscraper. The BMU doesnt clean the building, people on the BMU do.

Oh, my mistake. This is the only option to the BMU that I know of - chair rigging by rope. Here is a link to another short video. Enjoy.

Also, I am now thinking we need to invent more ‘tilt-in’ type windows that can be cleaned from the inside. No unsightly BMU machines on the roof, and no dangerous chairs being repelled by rope on the side of the buildings.

Also - These guys are even better - they don’t use wooden chair. :+1:

BTW - I have a 123 post on this topic. Click on my infoshare tag above to see all links/comment/photos. :star_struck:
