A potentially transformative project for New Haven.
The New Haven Planning and Zoning Commission passed a rezoning proposal to move the vacant lots to across Union Avenue from Union Station into a Transit Oriented Community zone. The first two buildings consisting of 541 Apartments were also formally approved by P&Z recently: 541 Apartments Approved For Union Square's Phase 1 - New Haven Independent . Per the renderings and site plans, the two Phase 1 buildings will be 9 stories facing Union Station, with the south building increasing to 11 stories and the north building increasing to 16 stories at setbacks. The full build out site plan has multiple 20-30 story buildings is scheduled for later phases: Union Square Development .
