Midtown 6, originally planned as a tower of 398 condo units in the previous cycle, will feature 447 residential units as well as ground floor retail, following the success of existing retail on Midtown Boulevard.
“We’re looking forward to another successful collaboration with Magellan Development and setting a new standard for luxury apartments in South Florida,” said Alex Vadia, Principal of Midtown Development, the development affiliate of Midtown Opportunities.
Magellan Development Group and Midtown Development are currently developing Midtown 5, a new mixed-use addition to Miami’s Midtown. When complete, it will have 400 luxury apartments, retail and office space. Construction is expected to be completed by end of year 2016. Midtown 5 topped off in April 2016.
Midtown Development is the development affiliate of Midtown Opportunities, a real estate investment company that purchased 22-acres in Midtown Miami in December of 2010. Magellan Development Group is Chicago’s premier real estate development company, responsible for the architecturally iconic Aqua tower in downtown Chicago. Similar design elements of this iconic Chi-town building are present in the design of Midtown 5 and can be seen in its undulating façade with a sculptural quality. Magellan Development Group will break ground this summer on the Wanda Vista, positioned to be Chicago’s newest luxury high-rise and third tallest building in the city.
Designed by Chicago-based bKL Architecture, Midtown 6 is slated to break ground in 2017.
