Mcarts notes of developments and etc

Oh yeah, I forgot about those lol. There are now so many supertalls there and some rising that I’m beginning to lose track of the older ones lol

Exciting times as you said, and even more exciting in a few years from now

So far Dubai has more supertalls by far, but of course NYC will definitely catch up

Sorry I meant to say 350 Park Avenue instead lol

I’ll edit my previous response to correct it

Ahh okay, thanks for the information. Interesting to see a very high speed train line under construction :slightly_smiling_face:

Also, in a unlikely scenario imagine NYC becoming like Tokyo

That’s not going to happen, for so many reasons it would be nauseating to list them all.
But in just 4

History
Culture
Money
And Population

True. After all NYC has its own set of problems compared to Tokyo

Speaking of this specific project, I can’t wait to ride it. Hopefully I’ll get the chance while I’m in Japan, tho idk if I’ll have the free time.

But that connection to Osaka will only be open in 2037 at the earliest unfortunately.

I would like to visit Japan someday, specifically Tokyo of course. I’ve heard it’s pretty nice there. Also the transit lines are so confusing and there are like a bunch of them

Also slightly off topic but I wonder if the city has congestion pricing, now that they are now talking about it for NYC

I’ll be going to Japan (hopefully), sometime around 2024.

I found this article from 2017 about traffic there

Ah, nice article. No wonder why the Toyko trains are so confusing because the lines are like spaghetti lol. Also good luck on your trip there soon hopefully

As for NYC, apologies if it’s a dumb or naive question since I don’t live in NYC, if/when congestion pricing is enforced will it result in more packed/crowded buses and trains?

Well I’m not going specifically to Tokyo, I’m going to Okinawa. So we’ll see.

As for congestion pricing, you can read the environmental assessment for things like that.
