JERSEY CITY | Laurel-Saddlewood Redevelopment | ~500 FT | 50 FLOORS

Fingers crossed this moves sooner than later, I can’t imagine they’d have trouble finding a developer in this market. In a way I’m kind of glad because they can do better than that original design.

It’s amazing the amount of projects going on in JC, just thinking in a few years with this, Hudson Exchange (hoping the future phases move faster once ShopRite is relocated), Embankment park & tower, etc. the area will be so different.

City spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione said the decision allows the city to move forward in “acquiring the right developer to revive this area in need of redevelopment, which will include affordable housing, flood mitigation, a public park, and a new 50,000 square-foot public school for preK-5 students to help alleviate the school system’s overcrowding … all valued at nearly $25 million, at no cost to taxpayers.”
