Hoboken Public Housing Redevelopment | 12 FLOORS | FT

Hoboken is set to redevelop its public housing, demolishing all of its current buildings and replacing it with new housing which currently total 1,354 units alongside a new resiliency park. The first phase is a 12 story building with 165 public housing units and is collaboration between the Hoboken Housing Authority and Hoboken Forward One Urban Renewal Associates. The new building will feature 28 one-bedroom, 95 two-bedroom, and 42 three-bedroom units, along with 2,050 square feet of retail and 84 garage parking spaces. No current residents will he displaced and it will be built on an L shaped lot with a start date of late 2027 and projected completion date of 2029.

If you’re in public housing you shouldn’t be able to afford a car.

exactly. one of my biggest pet peeves are the parking lots around any public housing complex and the entitlement residents have for them. It’s the Public Housing Authority (or whatever) not the Public Parking Authority.

This goes back to federal requirements from the 1950’s when they were building projects even in small towns.
